Snapcodes for accessing CliqTags sites

Update: Snapchat also supports standard QR codes, that don’t require the procedure below. You just use the QR codes that CliqTags generate.

This enables printing/showing Snapcodes instead of normal QR codes, and as most younger people have Snapchat installed, reach them with your information.

The Snapcode to the right goes to cqt.se/cliqtags, the demo site for CliqTags.

See e.g. Techcrunch – Snapchat now lets you make QR Snapcodes that open websites

Create a Snapcode

I found creating the Snapcode on a PC much more practical, as you download a high resolution Snapcode that you can directly print.

On a phone

So far only on iPhone, but will come for Android as well.

  1. Start Snapchat.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Snapcodes.
  4. Click on Create Snapcode.
  5. Enter a URL.
  6. Click on Create.
  7. Possibly add an image.
  8. Click on Save.

On a PC

  1. Go to https://scan.snapchat.com/.
  2. Log in to your Snapchat account.
  3. Enter a URL.
  4. Click on Make a Snapcode.
  5. Possibly add an image.
  6. Click on Download Your Snapcode.

Read a Snapcode

This has been tested on Android and iOS.

  • Start Snapchat.
  • Activate the camera.
  • Point at the Snapcode.
  • Snap a photo.
  • Confirm that you want to go to the site.
